Welcome to Corbin Presbyterian Church

Reflection of the week:

"My church needs me and I need my church.  For this is the means God uses to carry forward his redemptive work."

Church Helps Feed Seniors

It's called the Commodity Supplemental Food Program or CSFP and it's helping the elderly make ends meet.

Many senior citizens are on fixed incomes and can't afford their bills, medicines and food.

One Corbin church is trying to help them.

Leaders with the Corbin Presbyterian Church are helping folks apply for the program so people can get one box of food every month.

It is not Sunday morning, but the Corbin Presbyterian Church is packed.
Folks are waiting ... hoping they qualify for help.

A box filled with food that means more than what meets the eye.

"It is not just food, it is stability. It is something they can depend on each month," said Crystal Smith.

Smith helps folks apply for the program.

"It is a wonderful feeling. Almost brings tears to my eyes," said Smith.

Every applicant has a number, but for Smith, she sees the faces.

"I just see the people in need," said Smith.
